A Message & Invitation
from
Head of School Lee Fertig

Dear Alumni and Parents of Alumni,

I am overjoyed to officially be at Nueva as head of school, and to experience firsthand this remarkable community's unwavering dedication to learning by doing and learning by caring.

We are nearly a month into the 2020-2021 school year, and, albeit beginning remotely, our exceptional faculty and staff continue to demonstrate their commitment to enable gifted learners to make choices that benefit the world.

While I have had the opportunity to virtually make classroom visits, attend current parent events, and spend time with my new colleagues, I am eager to get to know our robust and diverse alumni and parents of alumni community!

I invite you to join me on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. for a virtual get-together, where I'll be able to share more about myself, provide updates about the school community, and answer your questions.

I look forward to seeing you there, and immersing myself more fully in our dynamic alumni community.

Best,
Lee Fertig

NUEVA CUP:
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

Due to gathering restrictions, the Nueva Cup will now be remote—go figure, our 13th annual golf tournament would run into some bad luck!

This cherished event will feature a new format, where all registered participants will independently complete their round of golf over the month of October and submit their scores by Saturday, Oct. 31.

Proceeds from the Nueva Cup will benefit the alumni and athletic programs.

ALUMNI RELFECTIONS:
NUEVA POST-GRADUATION

During a recent current parent event, alumnus Paco Poler '18 reflected on his Nueva experience—one of self-discovery, exploration, and the pursuit of his passions and interests. The captive audience enjoyed learning how impactful programs, school-sponsored clubs, and relationships formed with faculty are for current students and the transformative impact it has on their lives beyond Nueva.

If you would like to get more involved with the Alumni Association or Parents of Alumni Group, please fill out our "Get Involved" form. Thank you to all those who have already shared their interest, we will be in touch soon!

Services to
Support Faculty & Staff

Thank you to our alumni spanning the Classes of 1994 to 2020 for responding to our call for support for our Nueva faculty and staff!

During the 2020-2021 academic year, we are seeking to connect Nueva alumni with current faculty and staff members who need assistance with their own children. Areas of support include: tutoring, aiding remote learning, in-home childcare, or possible other needs based on skill sets and availability.

If you are interested in learning more or signing up, please fill out the form below. Please note, you will work directly for faculty and staff members, not as an employee of The Nueva School.
